Self-Care for Extremely Busy Women

Aug 2, 2022

Narcissistic abuse and mental or verbal abuse can keep us stuck, without a bit of self-care, for years on end. We hear from on expert on this important topic.

This episode is all about relationships and healing… even from grief and narcissistic abuse. Because it can be done! I start by sharing an essay from my blog, Eleven Key Things No One Ever Tells You About Grief.

I share eleven key observations I’ve made about grief after the death of my daughter Teal that they never tell you in books.

My guest, Maegan, is the host of an awesome podcast, The Secret Garden, and she has a lot to say about narcissistic abuse and domestic abuse how to overcome them. We covered a lot of ground… and I’m telling you. If you think you’ve never experienced this, you may be surprised by what you hear.

Here are some of the things I learned:

  • What is domestic violence, and what is narcissistic abuse
  • Why we need to know about trauma bonding
  • Sings of mental abuse you cannot ignore
  • What happens when you finally leave
  • Red flags to notice around narcissistic abuse
  • Why this can be an especially addictive problem
  • The nature of our denial about this abuse
  • What the grief feels like afterwards
  • Some good tools to use, and resources

Hope this is helps heal wherever you’re at today.

OUR GUEST

Maegan is a Certified Crisis Intervention Counselor in NYC with a big story.

In 2019 Maegan started her YouTube channel The Divine Self to start to educate survivors of narcissist abuse, but only after she escaped her own domestic violence situation and narcissistically abusive relationship. After receiving over 250 emails from survivors all over the world, she realized the time for this work had come.

She is also host of The Secret Garden podcast.
