I begin this episode with an essay from my book Surrendering to Joy. It’s called “Learning to Forgive My Difficult Mother”. In it I recount exactly that – perhaps one of the most profound learnings of my life. I have no doubt mom and I planned this well before we were born. Either way, I’m highly grateful.

While we’re on the topic of Motherhood, I happened to find Dr. Sheryl Ziegler’s book, Mommy Burnout, because it literally jumped out at me from a library book shelf. I took it home and read it, convinced it would be of use to you, my listeners. My interview with Dr. Ziegler is really fascinating. Turns out we really CAN burnout on the most common activity in the world – raising children.
