Self-Care for Extremely Busy Women

Apr 21, 2020

I begin this show with something so close to my heart … jigsaw puzzles! I’ve almost always got one working, and have for some years now. I’ve traded puzzles with friends, collected puzzles, and even made a few puzzles from photographs. (See They are an oasis of calm for frazzled brains, and I’ve shared my delights—and a few pro tips, as well.

And what else could be better for a pandemic than looking at boundaries?

I learned so much about them while chatting with author Nancy Levin. And who doesn’t need boundaries—strong, real, healthy ones—while sheltering in place, huh? That’s what motivated me to bring her on the show. Because if there was ever a time … that would be now.

Here’s what I learned.

  • What a proper boundary looks like
  • What bad boundaries look like
  • The biggest boundary myth (it’s surprising)
  • The conclusions we draw that empower lack of boundaries
  • What weak boundaries cost us
  • How to set different, healthy boundaries
  • The part played by resentment in all of this
  • The importance of knowing and listening to your needs

May this serve you well in our challenging times … and may you stay safe, friend.

Much love!
