Self-Care for Extremely Busy Women

Dec 8, 2020

This episode is all about relationships and healing… even from grief and narcissistic abuse. Because it can be done! I start by sharing an essay from my blog I wrote recently, as a tribute to the mother of one of my best pals in high school. She passed away not too long ago.

I share this story along with eleven key observations I’ve made about grief that they never tell you in books. My guest, Maegan, is the host of an awesome podcast, The Secret Garden, and she has a lot to say about Narcissistic abuse and how to overcome it. We covered a lot of ground… and I’m telling you. If you think you’ve never experienced this, you may be surprised by what you hear.

Here are some of the things I learned:

  • What is domestic violence, and what is narcissistic abuse
  • Why we need to know about trauma bonding
  • Sings of mental abuse you cannot ignore
  • What happens when you finally leave
  • Red flags to notice around narcissistic abuse
  • Why this can be an especially addictive problem
  • The nature of our denial about this abuse
  • What the grief feels like afterwards
  • Some good tools to use, and resources

Hope this is a heal wherever you’re at today.
