Self-Care for Extremely Busy Women

Dec 6, 2022

Love, marriage and commitments are the topics today as I begin this show with a post I wrote in 2019 from my blog called ‘How to Say No to the People You Love’. Because sometimes we just have to in the name of self-care, now don’t we?

My guest is none other than the well-respected marriage expert Lee Baucom. Host of one of the original marriage podcasts, Save the Marriage, he really has a GREAT perspective on how to have a healthy, working marriage—even AFTER the times get tough. God Bless Lee! There is some awesome wisdom here…

Among other things, we discussed:

  • Why do marriages get into trouble?
  • Does your advice apply to only marriages or any kind of long term relationship?
  • What exactly happens that puts relationships into trouble?
  • What about affairs?
  • Is being in love enough to keep a couple happily married?
  • Should every marriage be saved?
  • What if one of you is more into saving the marriage?
  • How to actually leave a marriage in a healthy way
  • What about midlife crisis in marriage?
  • Do we have soulmates… is that real?
  • How much does self-care play a roll in healthy marriage?

Honestly, I could have talked to Lee all day. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

Much love!

OUR GUEST

Lee Baucom calls himself a “recovering marriage therapist.” When he realized traditional counseling does little to help hurting marriages, he set out on a journey to figure out what DOES help. That led to the creation of his Save The Marriage System, along with a number of books, programs, and a podcast. Lee has helped couples restore their marriages around the world. His podcast, The Save the Marriage Podcast, has now been downloaded over 4 1/2 million times, and over 75,000 have used his program.
